INTERNATIONAL TRADE EXPERT

The objective of the Degree in International Business is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of business and administration combining practice-oriented instruction with a scientific business approach.

The students are offered an opportunity to specialise professionally in international trade the focus being on the expertise required in the internationalisation process of SMEs.

The studies consist of international business topics e.g. international business operations, marketing, customer service and sales work.

Students are also given a change to participate in international activities and various projects with an aim to give an opportunity to get knowledge and gain skills needed in an international career and to contribute to the internationalisation of SMEs. In addition, the students aquire skills in doing applied business research.

The degree programme qualifies the graduates for working independently in various internaqtional duties including planning and specialist tasks as well as R & D work. In international operations they can have e.g. sales, administrative, financial and import/export duties.

Structure of Studies

BBA Degree Programme consists of 210 credit units and it takes 3.5 years to complete the studies.

How to Apply?

Applying to programmes conducted in English at UAS takes place through a system of joint application. Prospective students can apply to four different degree programmes at UAS using the same application form.

Apply online at www.admissions.fi. It is important to follow all the instructions.

National Entrance Examinations 2009 in Degree Programme in International Business

1. The Examination includes

• A written part with the multiply-choice questions, essay and mathematics-logical part
• An interview part

3. Timing of the Examinations

The national examination date in Finland is Tuesday 28 April in 2009 at time and place instructed in the invitation letter.

Eligibility

Eligibility for studies at UAS depends on completing the Finnish Matriculation examination or upper secondary examination, European Baccalaureate, International Baccalaureate or Reifeprüfung examination, vocational qualification of three years or more in duration, a non-Finnish degree or studies equivalent to these qualifications. A vocational qualification of less than three years in duration gives eligibility to a corresponding field of study. Eligibility for UAS studies in a corresponding field of study may be broadened into general eligibility for UAS studies.
