# The efficacy of the PrevInf-project’s Transnational meetings is achieving the project goals - Savonia AMK

> Transnational meetings support the actions to achieve the PrevInf-project goals.

## Project Overview
The Erasmus+ Capacity Building project, ‘Capacitating Asia’s Nursing Students on Innovative and Sustainable Prevention and Control of Healthcare-Associated Infections (PrevInf)’, aims to promote infection prevention and control (IPC) teaching in Asian countries.

**Partner Universities:**
* **Vietnam:** Hai Duong Medical Technical University (HMTU) and Nam Dinh University
* **Cambodia:** International University and Bolyno Institute

The project goal is to make healthcare students and future professionals more competent and active developers in healthcare-associated infection prevention and control (HAI-PC).

## The Role of Transnational Meetings
Transnational project meetings are essential for fostering cross-cultural collaboration, involving extensive discussions, group work, and the finalization of key project materials. These face-to-face gatherings provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas that is crucial for the progress of international projects.

Recent meetings were held in Vietnam (August 2023) and Cambodia (November 2023) to finalize project disseminations and gather information on the integration of project products and methods into the curricula of partner universities.

## Project Outputs and Dissemination
The meetings have provided a platform to finalize and discuss:
* Educational materials (E-books in English, Khmer, and Vietnamese)
*   Scientific articles
* Project presentation videos and websites
* Integration of simulation pedagogy into curricula

### Scientific Publishing
Each Asian partner university has been responsible for one scientific article, with support from Savonia and Coimbra teams regarding methodology, results analysis, and scientific writing. Currently, one article has been accepted for submission, two have been submitted, and the final article is in progress.

### International Conferences
Each partner university held an international conference to present project results, with a total attendance of over 1,000 participants, including representatives from local universities, hospitals, the Nurses Association, and the Ministry of Health. These events enabled partners to discuss the permanent integration of project results into local teaching practices.

## Future Collaboration
The project has established a trusting relationship and an open culture of discussion among all partners. Savonia UAS intends to continue collaborating with these universities to address further challenges in infection control and other healthcare development topics. The final transnational meeting is scheduled for February 2024 in Coimbra, Portugal, to support the project's sustainability plan.
