# The higher education institutions of Eastern Finland are intensifying their education export cooperation by launching the Finland University website

> The University of Eastern Finland, Karelia University of Applied Sciences and Savonia University of Applied Sciences will introduce the well-known Finland University brand in their education export cooperation.

## Overview of the Cooperation
The University of Eastern Finland, Karelia University of Applied Sciences, and Savonia University of Applied Sciences are introducing the Finland University brand to their joint education export efforts. While Finland University was previously a joint company of several higher education institutions that has since ceased operations, these Eastern Finnish institutions are now adopting the brand to continue their collaborative work.

The joint brand provides the institutions with wider recognition, a broader selection of services, and increased capacity in the global education export market. The initiative can be found at [www.finlanduniversity.com](http://www.finlanduniversity.com).

## Service Offerings and Goals
The cooperation focuses on themes including education, green transition, sustainable business, and health and well-being. The primary goal is to generate research-based expertise and understanding on a global scale.

"Our goal is to expand and diversify education exports into a larger entity. The cooperation and strong educational expertise of three Eastern Finnish higher education institutions create a good basis for exploring new markets. Research-based development of education increases the effectiveness of education in the target countries. Through new education export products, we are also building a new kind of research cooperation," says Tapio Määttä, Academic Rector of the University of Eastern Finland.

## Target Audience and Scope
Through Finland University, the institutions market their services to the business-to-business (B2B) sector, including:
* Societal actors
* Non-governmental organizations
* Foundations
* Companies

The service scope ranges from early childhood education to basic education in the social and health sector, higher education, and continuous learning.

"All three higher education institutions have strong expertise related to the challenges of climate change. Together, we can offer internationally interesting and multidisciplinary entities that promote sustainable development and the green transition. We implement the export of know-how, which is both ethically and financially sustainable," states Mervi Vidgrén, President of the Savonia University of Applied Sciences.

"Cooperation with Finland University enables the implementation of educational export projects concerning the entire higher education sector. It also brings with it a sufficient pool of experts for the planning and provision of even more challenging and multidisciplinary projects. The economic potential of the cooperation in terms of education export is significant," adds Petri Raivo, President of Karelia University of Applied Sciences.
