# Growing Through Global Experiences at Savonia

> International Business student Happy shares his journey of personal and professional growth at Savonia University of Applied Sciences.

## My Journey at Savonia
Hello, I am Happy, and I am completing my third year of International Business at Savonia University of Applied Sciences. My program has contributed to my growth as a student and to personal growth since I began in August 2023.

I hail from Nepal and have always been curious about how the rest of the world does business and how businesses grow by selling internationally. That curiosity put International Business within my reach. Savonia was attractive to me because of the international environment, practical teaching pedagogy, and economic and professional connections outside the classroom that sync with current business problems.

## Academic and Personal Development
As part of my studies, I have gained a strong foundational knowledge of marketing, finance, management, logistics, and cross-cultural communication. I have experienced the focused, interactive learning environment offered by Savonia. I found the experience working with fellow classmates who were from different cultural backgrounds has enabled me to develop my teamwork and problem-solving skills. The faculty encourages students to think creatively, and independently to develop their confidence in their abilities.

## Life in Finland
Finland is a unique living experience! Acclimating to a new culture, a new lifestyle, and the real difference in the winter weather have been challenges! However, it forced me to learn resilience and adaptability. Nevertheless, it has been a noticeable pleasure for me to see the peaceful attitude that exists, the friendliness of the people, and the quality of the educational system, along with my classmates from different countries which makes me feel like a fully developed individual.

## Future Aspirations
After completing my degree, I plan to build my career in the international business sector, focusing on areas such as marketing, digital business, or international trade. In the future, I hope to use my knowledge and experience to create opportunities that connect Nepal with global markets and support international cooperation.

## Advice for Future Students
For students who are planning to study abroad, my advice is simple: be open to new experiences, stay focused, and make the most of every opportunity. Studying in a foreign country may feel overwhelming at first, but it is a journey that truly helps you grow, learn, and discover your potential.
