There may be more than one way to apply for the same degree programme. ## Find the right way to apply There may be more than one way to apply for the same degree programme. The right application route for you depends on the programme and your previous qualifications. Explore the options below, and be sure to check the degree programme page to see which application routes are available for your chosen programme. * **Certificate-based Application:** Open from 1 October 2026 to 31 July 2027. Applicants are selected based on their certificate grades. * **SAT-based Application:** Open from 1 October 2026 to 31 July 2027. Applicants are selected based on their SAT scores. * **Joint Application:** Open from 7 to 21 January 2027. You apply through the joint application for Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences. * **Entrance Exam Application:** Open from 7 January to 23 March 2027. Applicants are selected based on Savonia’s entrance exam, which must be taken in person in Kuopio or Varkaus. * **Application based on previous studies:** If you have an unfinished degree from a Finnish higher education institution or have previous studies from a Finnish Open UAS or Open University, you may be able to apply to Savonia based on your previous studies. * **Transfer Application:** If you are registered as a degree student at a Finnish University or University of Applied Sciences, you might be able to apply transfer to Savonia UAS. Also, if you are registered as a degree student in Savonia UAS, you might be able to apply transfer to another degree programme. * **Sustainability Leadership:** Gain real-world experience, learn from diverse European contexts, and build the skills, perspective, and professional network to grow into sustainability leadership roles. ## Frequently Asked Questions ### Agents and Support You do not need an agent to apply to a Bachelor’s degree programme at Savonia. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you with any questions about applying, free of charge. If you choose to use an agent, please note that the agent may charge you a service fee. You can find a list of our official agents here. ### Residence Permits If you need a residence permit for Finland, you will need to apply for it yourself through the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri). Savonia provides admitted students with documents required for the application, such as an admission letter and, for students who have paid the tuition fee, confirmation of their study place. Savonia cannot assist you in completing the residence permit application or influence the processing time of your application. ### Tuition Fees * The tuition fee for Bachelor’s degree programmes is currently EUR 9,700 per academic year for students required to pay tuition fees. * **Joint Application:** Students can benefit from the Early Bird tuition fee of EUR 7,760 for the first academic year if they accept the study place within seven days and pay the tuition fee within 14 days of being admitted. If the study place is accepted later, the tuition fee is EUR 9,700 and the payment deadline is at the end of July. * **Direct Application:** The tuition fee for the first academic year is EUR 7,760 and must be paid within 14 days of being admitted. * The tuition fee for the first academic year must be paid in full in a single payment and cannot be paid in instalments. ### Scholarships * Savonia does not offer scholarships to first-year students. * From the second academic year onwards, you can receive a 20% scholarship if you completed at least 60 ECTS credits during the previous academic year. * You can also receive a 10% scholarship if you have passed the required Finnish language test. * Savonia does not offer scholarships that cover the full tuition fee or scholarships based on the student’s financial need. ### Eligibility You can generally apply to Savonia’s Bachelor’s degree programmes with a qualification that makes you eligible for higher education in the country where it was completed. This may be an upper secondary school leaving certificate or another upper secondary-level qualification. You can apply before graduating, provided you complete your qualification by the deadline stated in the application instructions. If you apply through the Direct Application – Certificate Grades selection method, the average grade on your certificate must be at least 60% of the maximum possible grade.
