# How to apply in the Direct Application - Savonia AMK

> Direct application means that you can apply only to one (1) study programme with one (1) application form. The study programme must be chosen from Savonia UAS’s offer.

## Application Rules
Direct application means that you can apply only to one (1) study programme with one (1) application form. The study programme must be chosen from Savonia UAS’s offer. However, you can apply in all Direct Applications if you fulfil the requirements.

Please note that if you submit several application forms in the one Direct Application, only the 1st one will be taken into consideration and all others will be deleted. Savonia UAS will not inform applicants about deleted applications.

## Steps to Follow
1. **Check eligibility:** Review the eligibility criteria and ensure you have all necessary documents (and translations if needed) available before starting the form. Note: Your degree must be completed and you must have the final certificate.
2. **Select programme:** Identify which study programme you are applying to.
3. **Fill in the form:** Access the link from the specific application website.
4. **Submit:** Answer all mandatory questions (marked with an asterisk *) and upload all necessary documents. You can check for missing information by clicking “Check x answers” at the top of the page.
5. **Confirmation:** Click "Submit application." You will receive a confirmation email to the address provided.
6. **Application Fee:** Starting from 1 Jan 2025, applicants from outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland are required to pay a 100 euro application fee. You will be prompted to pay this after submitting your application if you are obligated to do so.
7. **Follow-up:** Monitor your email regularly, read all related communications, and act quickly if requested to provide further information.

## Filling Out the Application
*   **Registration:** No registration or login is required to start the form.
*   **Personal Details:** Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk. If you lack a Finnish identity code, provide your date of birth and gender. Ensure your email address is correct and personal; it serves as an identification detail.
*   **Permissions:** You must provide consent for electronic communication and select a contact language to submit the form.
*   **Educational Background:** You must have completed a degree that grants eligibility for higher education. You will be required to upload attachments regarding your educational background.
*   **Additional Questions:** You may be asked specific questions based on your selected study programme.

## Submitting and Modifying Your Application
*   **Submission:** Application forms cannot be saved as drafts. You must answer all mandatory questions to submit. Use the "Preview" button to review your information before final submission.
*   **Modifications:** After submission, you will receive a personal link in your confirmation email to access and modify your application during the application period.
*   **Login:** If you have Finnish online banking codes, a mobile certificate, or an electronic ID-card, you can use the "My Studyinfo" service to make changes.

## Guidelines for Attachments
*   **Quality:** Scan all pages or take high-quality, legible photos. Combine pages of the same document into a single file.
*   **Formats:** Recommended formats are PDF, JPG, PNG, and DOCX.
*   **Naming:** Use the format: `Lastname_First name_description/name of document` (e.g., `Smith_Mary_highschooldiploma`).
*   **Deadlines:** If you are given a deadline for attachments, they must be uploaded within 7 days after the application period closes.
