# Student selection in the Direct Application - Savonia AMK

## General Application Information
*   **Application period starts:** 1 October 2025.
*   **Application period ends:** Once the group is full, but on 31 July 2026 at the latest.

## Selection Method: SAT
*   **Basis:** SAT test.
*   **Requirements:**
    *   Evidence-Based Reading and Writing: Minimum 550 (Reading Test + Writing and Language Test).
    *   Mathematics: Minimum 550.
*   **Rules:**
    *   Only the new version of the SAT (completed after March 2016) is accepted.
    *   Only sections performed during a single session are considered.
    *   Official scores must be ordered from the test organizer to reach Savonia UAS by 31 July 2026.
    *   Savonia UAS College Board code: **7448**.
    *   Reports printed or submitted by applicants are not accepted.
*   **Admission criteria:** Eligible for Higher Education studies, meets minimum SAT requirements, and a study place is available.

## Selection Method: Video Interview
*   **Application period:** 1 to 8 October 2025.
*   **Instructions:** Upload the video to the application form by 15 October 2025, 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.
*   **Admission criteria:** Eligible for Higher Education studies, required proof of English language skills, video score above minimum requirement, and a study place is available.

## Selection Method: Certificate Grades
*   **Eligibility:** Upper secondary/higher secondary/high school degree completed in EU/EEA-country, Brazil, China, South Korea, Egypt, India, Morocco, Montenegro, Nepal, Turkey, or Vietnam.
*   **Exclusions:** Bachelor’s, master’s, and vocational qualifications are not considered.
*   **Timeline:** Final degree must be completed by 31 July 2026; certificate must be submitted by 14 August 2026.
*   **Required Grades:**
    *   **Finnish applicants:** Finnish Matriculation Examination; Mathematics at least grade M (basic syllabus) or C (advanced syllabus).
    *   **International applicants:** At least "good" or better / 60% or higher in both English and Mathematics. Overall GPA must be at least "good" or better / 60% or higher.
*   **Note on English skills:** If an applicant lacks proof of English language skills, they may be invited to an online interview if their grades meet requirements.

## Selection Method: Entrance Exam
*   **Application period:** 1 January to 31 March 2026.
*   **Hospitality Management and Health Care:** Entrance exam and group interview on 15 April 2026 at Microkatu campus, Kuopio.
*   **Other Bachelor’s programmes:** Entrance exam on 15 April 2026 at Microkatu campus, Kuopio or Varkaus (Industrial Management).
*   **Individual Arrangements:** Available for illness, disability, or dyslexia. Requests must be submitted by 7 April 2026, 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.

## Admission and Tuition Fees
*   **Acceptance:** Study place must be accepted within 7 days of admission.
*   **One study place per term:** Accepting a place in the Direct Application prevents accepting another place for studies starting in autumn 2026.
*   **Tuition Fee:** 9,700 euros per academic year.
*   **Early Bird Fee:** 7,760 euros for the 1st academic year, payable within 14 days of admission. Failure to pay results in loss of the study place.
