# Transfer study right to Savonia UAS

> If you are a degree student at a Finnish University or a University of Applied Sciences, you can apply for transfer to an equivalent programme at Savonia UAS.

## Eligibility for Transfer
You may apply for a transfer to Savonia University of Applied Sciences (UAS) if:
* You are registered as a degree student at a Finnish University or University of Applied Sciences.
* You are registered as a degree student in another degree programme at Savonia UAS.

**Note:** You are not eligible to apply for a transfer if you are not registered as a degree student in a Finnish University or UAS, if you are studying at a university outside Finland, or if you are studying in a tailor-made education program. In these cases, you may apply via the Joint application period.

Transfer is possible between bachelor’s degrees and between master’s degrees, provided that:
* There are free study places in the target degree programme.
* Your previous studies can be accredited for the new programme, and you can graduate within the regulated study time (for bachelor’s degrees, +1 year is taken into consideration).

## Specific Programme Restrictions
* **Bachelor’s degree in Nursing:** No available study places in the first-year group. Applicants must have completed at least 60 credits of nursing studies.
* **Master’s degree in Digital Health:** It is not possible to apply for a transfer.
* **Master’s degree requirements:** Applicants must have a suitable background degree and at least 24 months of work experience in the field after graduation.

## Application Process
Applications must be submitted via [Studyinfo](https://studyinfo.fi).

**Application Periods:**
* **1 October – 31 December:** Studies begin in the spring term.
* **1 April – 31 August:** Studies begin in the autumn term.

**Required Attachments:**
* Student certificate and transcript of records (or a link via the "My Studyinfo" service).
* Copy of passport.
* Copy of residence permit card (if applicable).
* A completed study plan (comparing previous studies to the target curriculum found in the [Savonia UAS Study Guide](https://studyguide.savonia.fi)).
* For master’s degrees: Certificates proving eligibility (background degree and 24 months of work experience).

## Decision and Confirmation
* Applications are processed within one month.
* Decisions are sent via email.
* Applications are not handled during holidays (summer, week 10, week 42, and Christmas).
* If accepted, you have 7 days to confirm the study place.
* Upon confirmation, Savonia UAS will notify your previous institution to resign you. Ensure all completed studies are registered before accepting the transfer.

## Tuition Fees and Scholarships
Savonia UAS collects tuition fees from non-EU/EEA students in English-taught programmes.

* **Tuition Fee Payment:** Fees are paid in two installments (autumn and spring). If transferring for the autumn semester, the full autumn fee is paid without scholarship deductions.
* **Scholarships:** Scholarships are deducted from the spring semester tuition fee and are only granted for the statutory study time:
    * **Bachelor’s degrees:** 210 credits (3.5 years) or 240 credits (4 years).
    * **Master’s degrees:** 60 credits (2 years) or 90 credits (3 years).
* **Ukrainian Students:** Full scholarship based on humanitarian reasons (requires valid passport/ID indicating Ukrainian citizenship).

### Exemption from Tuition Fees
You are exempt from tuition fees if you hold one of the following:
* Passport/ID indicating EU/EEA/Switzerland citizenship.
* EU Blue Card in Finland.
* EU Family Member’s Residence Card in Finland.
* Continuous (type A) residence permit in Finland (granted based on employment or family ties, provided the first permit was not based on studies).
* EU residence permit for third-country citizens with long-term residence (Type P-EU).
* Brexit residence permit card (Type SEU or P SEU).
* Permanent (type P) residence permit in Finland.
* Residence permit based on temporary protection in Finland.
