Digitalisation challenges social and health care activities as well as the way of thinking. A new approach to social and health care services means that the client/patient receives all information about him or her and is equally involved in the decision-making about his or her own care. Digitalisation requires multidisciplinary expertise to achieve commitment to change in the working life and to promote digitalisation actively.

The Master’s Degree in Digital Health provides graduates with skills needed for innovative development of digital social and health care services, service production, expert organisation management, and the development of service quality. The studies also prepare students for planning, implementing, and evaluating social welfare and health care reform in different operational environments.

## Curriculum and Structure
The degree consists of 90 ECTS:
*   30 ECTS of common studies
*   30 ECTS of field-specific professional studies

## Admissions Requirements
The Digital Health programme is interdisciplinary and open to students with backgrounds in Social- and Healthcare, Technical, or Business fields.

*   **Educational Background:** Bachelor’s degree in social services or healthcare, or another appropriate Bachelor’s/Master’s degree. Old Finnish vocational degrees (opistoasteen tutkinto or ammatillisen korkea-asteen tutkinto) are also accepted.
*   **Work Experience:** At least two years (24 months) of work experience in the field of social services and/or healthcare, obtained after graduation.
*   **Language Skills:** Studies are conducted in English; sufficient skills are required, though no separate proof is needed.

## Work Experience Verification
*   Work experience must be verified with an employment certificate indicating the company name, start/end dates, contact information, duties, and working hours.
*   Part-time work is converted to full-time equivalent (150 hours or 20 working days of at least 7 hours each = one month).
*   Full-time entrepreneurship is accepted if verified by YEL pension scheme documentation and a Trade Register notification.
*   Military/non-military service and child-care leave are not counted.

## Thesis Work
The thesis is a working-life focused project that allows students to explore a topic of interest while networking with experts and employers. It can take the form of development work, developmental research, or a project, and should contribute to the strategic goals of the student's workplace or a partner organisation.

## Career Opportunities
Graduates are qualified for expert and managerial positions in multi-professional workplaces. The degree qualifies holders for public sector posts equivalent to those attained at a university.
