Objectives | The student • follows the ethical guidelines and legislation related to oral health care • follows the principles of work and patient safety • uses the most common oral health care equipment • uses the electronic patient data system • performs oral health check-ups ( children, adolescents and grown-ups) • performs complementary examinations (saliva tests, radiographic examinations) and analyses • identifies the periodontal diseases of children and adolescents • identifies cariological and periodontal oral health care needs • prepares a periodontal oral care plan in cooperation with a bachelor of dentistry • performs anti-infection treatment • performs infection prevention oral health care for children and adolescents • uses motivational and participatory methods in oral health promotion • provides patients with nutritional and oral health counselling and advises them on the use of fluoride and xylitol products |
Content | Oral health care for families in the teaching clinic of the North Savo Hospital District. |
Requirements | Writing down the starting level and objectives. Completion of data protection and security training. Participation in patient data system training. Participation in the introduction to clinical work. First aid exercise. Completion of internship (attendance required). Self-assessment and evaluation, participation in a feedback and evaluation discussion. Semi-annual assessment of the development of skills and competence. PLE. |
