Objectives | The student is able to • provide aesthetic oral health care • use proper strategies to manage patients with dental fear • participate in the orthodontic process in his or her area of responsibility • use orthodontic materials, devices and instruments • document oral health check-ups related to orthodontics • provide oral self-care counselling for an orthodontic patient • recognise the need for TMD treatment and provide follow-up care counselling • identify normal occlusion and deviations from that • provide counselling for an orthodontic patient and the family at different stages of the process • assess and develop motivational and participatory working methods • assess his or her patient’s periodontal oral health care process • identify factors affecting the oral health status of elderly patients • plan oral health care for elderly patients considering the special features affecting the planning |
Content | Oral health care work in the teaching clinic of the North Savo Hospital District or during foreign exchange |
