| Objectives | The student -understands the importance of the nurse’s ethical guidelines and nursing values in his or her work -understands the importance of evidence based practice -can explain the emergence of internal and oncological diseases, their symptoms, diagnostics and treatments -assesses the client's nursing needs in different nursing situations and environments -deepens his or her expertise in planning, implementing and assessing the treatment of internal medicine and cancer patients and document the process -carry out nursing interventions -can apply nutrition and physical activity treatment -is familiar with the basics of the essential medical treatment of internal medicine and cancer patients -can provide resource-oriented mentoring for the patient’s self -care and lifestyle change -understands and pays attention to the importance of relatives and friends at different stages of the patient’s disease -can perform the required drug calculations accurately -has skills and knowledge needed for Medical Nursing Comtetence test |
| Content | Evidence based decision-making process in nursing concerning the nursing care and nutrition therapy of internal medicine and cancer patients. Essential medication and drug calculations. Psychosocial support for the client and the family members at different stages of the disease. Ethics and health promotion, the client’s active role in self-care.The most common internal diseases and diagnostics. Documentation, infection prevention. Encountering a terminally ill or dying patient (basics of palliative care). |
