Objectives | The students understand product development processes and workflow. They will get an understanding of the link between the product development and production, and they will be able to work as members of a multidisciplinary product development group. The students will get an understanding of the computer-aided programs the companies use in product development and production. The students will be able to produce project documentation in English. They will know project meeting practices, and related documentation of meetings. The students know how to present the goals of the project, interim reports and final results by using a variety of presentation techniques and tools. The students develop their reporting skills further. |
Content | The product development process, practical application of the general studies in mechanical engineering, working in a multidisciplinary environment, product development tools, product data management and the basics of enterprise resource planning systems, manufacturing technology, material procurement and production methods. Communication skills in projects includes team working skills in international projects, presentation techniques (e.g. pitching), vocabulary for project working and project documentation in English. |
