## Orientation Schedule
Savonia arranges the joint orientation for the new incoming exchange students in the beginning of the semesters:

*   **Autumn semester 2026:** August 27 – 28
*   **Spring semester 2027:** January 5 and 7

The joint orientation will be organized on **Microkatu Campus**. We highly recommend that everyone participates in the orientation.

## Purpose of the Orientation
The orientation contains a lot of useful information related to both practical and academic aspects of your stay and is planned to help you to cope with the flow of new information. You will get to know Savonia, practicalities, other exchange students from different study fields, and the student tutors. During the orientation, you will also be instructed to make the course enrollments.

## Support and Guidance
*   **International Coordinators:** Each study field/School at Savonia has an International Coordinator who helps international exchange students in their study-related issues such as Learning Agreements. You will meet them during the joint orientation.
*   **Student Tutors:** They will be helping you especially at the beginning of your stay. They will meet you for the first time when you arrive on campus and are valuable sources of information in questions related to student life at Savonia.

### Thursday, August 27, 2026 (09.30 – 16.00)
*   **09.30 – 11.45:** Welcome to Kuopio and Savonia – Practical info & academic affairs, Savonia International Mobility Services
*   **11.45 – 12.15:** IT user IDs & campus keys (bring your ID card!)
*   **12.15:** Group photo in the Campus Heart
*   **12.20 – 13.15:** Lunch break
*   **13.15 – 14.00:** Microkatu campus tour with the student tutors
*   **14.00 – 16.00:** IT tools (BYOD!) + Course registration

### Friday, August 28, 2026 (10.00 onwards)
*   **10.00 – 10.15:** Kuopio Student Housing Company “Kuopas”
*   **10.15 – 10.30:** Public health services in Kuopio
*   **10.30 – 10.45:** Savonia UAS’ library services
*   **10.45 – 11.00:** Student Sports Services “Sykettä”
*   **11.00 – 11.45:** Student Union SAVOTTA + photographs for the student cards
*   **11.45 – 12.15:** ESN SAVO Exchange Students
*   **12.15 – 12.30:** How to survive in Kuopio as a(n international) student

### Later during the day/following week:
*   Study field specific meetings with the departmental international coordinators
*   City tour with the student tutors
