| Objectives | The student is able to -assess mental health problems and substance abuse as experiental phenomena at different stages of life -analyse current mental health and substance abuse nursing phenomena and trends -use the mental health and substance abuse nursing assessment, counselling and care interventions properly and in different ways -observes the legislation and instructions governing mental health and addiction care -use different mental health promotion methods to improve the client’s mental wellbeing -masters safe administration of medication in mental health and substance abuse nursing -apply evidence based information in mental health and substance abuse nursing -assesses his or her own professional skills and development needs -can write a CV and create infograph and video CV |
| Content | Nursing philosophy and ethics, human rights and human dignity, legislation and instructions governing mental health and substance abuse nursing. Multi-professional co-operation in organisations and between them. Evidence based information in mental health and substance abuse nursing. Psychoeducation, educational work within families and involvement of relatives in caring for the patient. Clinical supervision.
