Description | The goal of the Bio and Circular European Network project is to promote the development of the bio and circular economy ecosystem in North Savo, accelerate the R&D work of SMEs in the region, and accumulate regional expertise. The project is carried out in collaboration with Savonia University of Applied Sciences, the University of Eastern Finland, and the Natural Resources Institute Finland. The project promotes cooperation between national and international ecosystems aimed at enhancing the expertise of SMEs and research institutions in North Savo. The operational models being mapped and already proven elsewhere will be implemented in ecosystem work. The project promotes harnessing research data from different ecosystems for the use of R&D actors and companies in North Savo. In addition, the project supports the development of services and operating models for the bio and circular economy ecosystem, benefiting a large number of regional companies.
The project will carry out three benchmarking and networking trips, resulting in actors in the bio- and circular economy ecosystem having up-to-date knowledge of best practices for implementing practical services of the ecosystem and networking among potential partners in Europe. The results of the benchmarking and networking trips will create a consortium aimed at continuing the development of innovations in cooperation with higher education institutions, research centers, and SMEs in the bio- and circular economy sector. With the project's resources, cooperation will be established with other national ecosystems, complementing the regional network and bringing international development to the knowledge of other ecosystems in North Savo. The project supports the implementation of companies' green transition, smart specialization, as well as the digitization of the sector and the utilization of artificial intelligence, in which there are still many opportunities for development in the fields of bio- and circular economy. |
