| Description | The core of the project is to develop the operating model for the Circular Economy Solutions Centre, around which a broad, multidisciplinary network is built -companies, municipalities, research and educational institutions, organizations, and other partners. These actors combine their expertise and resources to promote circular economy and reuse in the region through open collaboration. Pilots and learning projects are seamlessly integrated into everyday activities, supporting the embedding of circular economy expertise into the daily practices of all stakeholders.
The Solutions Centre brings together regional circular economy actors and provides a one-stop service for solving circular economy challenges. It coordinates the identification and collection of challenges from companies, municipalities, and other stakeholders, directing them to be solved by the partner network’s expertise. While the Centre does not have a physical space, its activities are linked to a recycling mall managed by Elävä säätiö, which offers an authentic, diverse, and impactful environment for pilots and experiments. Savonia University of Applied Sciences plays a key role, especially through RDI activities: it coordinates network building and supports companies in developing circular economy solutions and strengthening expertise. Also involved are Savo Vocational College (Sakky) and Ingmanedu Vocational College of Culture (Doctor Matthias Ingman Foundation), which develop circular economy expertise and entrepreneurship. Students participate in practical work-life projects with companies and communities, producing products from recycled materials, repair services, or circular economy business ideas. Pedagogical models and learning environments link skills to practical activities. Project work packages: WP1 Operating Model for the North Savo Centre for Circular Economy Solutions and Recommendations for Reuse Develop a replicable operating model for the Solutions Centre and prepare recommendations for reuse, supporting resource-wise and systematic circular economy activities in the region. WP2 Circular Economy Pilots and Experiments Implement customer- and need-driven circular economy pilots and experiments in various environments, especially the recycling mall. Pilots promote reuse, extend lifecycles, utilize industrial side streams and waste, and explore new service opportunities. WP3 Development of Circular Economy Competence and Entrepreneurship Strengthen circular economy expertise and entrepreneurship by developing educational content, learning environments, and collaborative projects with companies and communities. Circular economy business models and work-based learning are integrated into studies, and students are encouraged to try circular economy entrepreneurship. WP4 Impactful Communication on Circular Economy Communicate effectively about circular economy opportunities and the Solutions Centre’s services. Engage consumers in workshops and events, make circular economy terminology familiar, and highlight good practices. As a result, the Solutions Centre will become a hub of circular economy and reuse expertise and collaboration, with services clearly communicated and accessible to regional actors. The Centre keeps the voice of circular economy present and supports the development of service demand. The network targets actions resource-wisely and avoids overlaps. Through increased expertise, recommendations, and pilots, the project supports carbon neutrality and sustainable development, strengthens security of supply by reducing dependence on virgin raw materials, and supports the renewal of SMEs. Repair and reuse expertise reduces dependence on new materials and improves regional preparedness for supply chain disruptions. | Partners | Hanke toteutetaan ryhmähankkeena Savonia-ammattikorkeakoulun, Elävä säätiön, Tohtori Matthias Ingmanin säätiön sekä Savon Koulutuskuntayhtymän kesken.
Hankkeen kohderyhmänä ovat pk-yritykset, jotka haluavat kehittää kiertotalouden mukaisia liiketoimintamalleja ja kokeiluja. Hanke tarjoaa yrityksille mahdollisuuden testata ja arvioida uusia ratkaisuja sekä osallistua kumppanuusverkoston ja kiertotalouden ekosysteemin rakentamiseen. Hankkeen toimet tavoittelevat myös uusia liiketoimintamahdollisuuksia kiertotalouden alalla etsiviä pien- ja kevytyrittäjiä tai niiksi aikovia. Kohderyhmänä ovat lisäksi järjestöt ja yhteisöt, jotka voivat toteuttaa kiertotalouden kokeiluja aidoissa toimintaympäristöissä sekä osallistua paikallisen uudelleenkäyttöverkoston vahvistamiseen. Järjestöt voivat hyödyntää kauppakeskusympäristöä toimintansa näkyvyyden ja vaikuttavuuden lisäämiseksi. Kaupungit ja kunnat voivat hyödyntää hanketta osana vihreän siirtymän ja kestävän kehityksen tavoitteita, työllisyyden edistämistä ja kuntalaisten osallistamista. Kunnat voivat toimia sekä mahdollistajana että aktiivisena kumppanina kiertotalouden kokeiluissa ja verkostojen rakentamisessa. Kunnat ovat keskeisiä toimijoita ekosysteemissä ja voivat tukea uudelleenkäytön suositusten jalkauttamista. Hankkeen keskeisiin kohderyhmiin kuuluvat eri koulutusalojen, erityisesti ammatilliset opiskelijat ja opintoihin suuntautuvat henkilöt, joille hanke tarjoaa mahdollisuuden kehittää kiertotalousosaamista käytännönläheisissä oppimisympäristöissä. Hanke tukee myös työelämäyhteyksien rakentamista tuomalla yhteen oppilaitokset, yritykset, järjestöt ja kuntaorganisaatiot. Tämä mahdollistaa opiskelijoille verkostoitumisen ja osaamisen kehittämisen aidoissa toimintaympäristöissä. Myös ammatillisten oppilaitosten opetushenkilöstön kiertotalousosaamista vahvistetaan hankkeen toimenpiteillä. |
