| Description | The target group of the project is the technology industry and wood and construction product
companies in North Savo and Pieksämäki and the SMEs that provide their services. The indirect target groups are the region's subcontracting networks, educational institutions, research and RDI actors, municipalities, and the entire province's business community and residents, who benefit from the increase in jobs, expertise and investments. The project responds to the key challenges of SMEs in the region: slowing productivity, low willingness to invest, uncertainty of the operating environment, green transition, the introduction of artificial intelligence and digital tools, and the availability of a skilled workforce. Objectives • Strengthen the growth, productivity, change and competitiveness of SMEs in the region. • Promote the introduction of new technologies (especially artificial intelligence). • Support internationalization and sustainable development solutions. • Promote business opportunities created by the defense industry, the green transition and the energy transition. • Improve the availability and retention of a skilled workforce. Key themes 1. Growth and renewal of companies: Preparation of 50 investment and RDI projects, support for product and service development, strengthening change and innovation management. renewable energy solutions. 2. Business opportunities in the defense and security sector in companies in the region: Opportunities in the defense and security sector, NATO and PV procurement, dual-use products., cybersecurity and preparedness in manufacturing companies, sharing business situational information with stakeholders and lobbyists. 3. Implementation of artificial intelligence: Utilization of data in decision-making and production, strengthening expertise through training. 4. Productivity and competitiveness: The aim of the theme is to improve the productivity of the region's industrial and service companies during the project by utilizing targeted development work, workshops and strengthening expertise. 5. Skilled workforce: supporting the retention and employment of international experts, strengthening cooperation between educational institutions, increasing young people's interest in industrial sectors. The project brings new added value to SMEs by encouraging artificial intelligence experiments, opening up opportunities in the comprehensive security and defense industry markets, and combining the goals of the green and digital transitions. It also contributes to creating new operating models to promote the retention and employment of international experts in cooperation with other actors in the region. |
