| Description | The aim of the project is to investigate the potential for solar power generation on farmland in Northern Savo in such a way that the impact on agricultural activities and the balance of the electricity transmission grid is kept to a minimum. The aim is to investigate and assess the economic impacts of combined production on farmers and to identify solutions that promote the competitiveness of both agriculture and solar power generation.
As part of the investment project, 3–4 solar panel systems utilising different technological solutions will be procured for a test site to be established at the Hingunniemi farm of the Ylä-Savo Vocational College. The aim at the test site is to pilot the integration of solar power generation and agricultural operations. The solar panel systems, implemented using different technical solutions, will provide additional data on solar energy production at different times of the day and year, as well as on the effects on agricultural activities, soil moisture and crop yields. Cultivation tests involving hay, cereals and legumes will be carried out on the test site, and the effects of solar power generation on, for example, soil moisture and the quality and quantity of the harvest will be investigated. The test site is also being used as a pilot site for implementing other measures within the development project. The results will provide further information and practical experience on combining solar power generation with agricultural activities in northern latitudes.The information will be utilised in the implementation of other development measures and will be disseminated to agricultural entrepreneurs, local authorities, public authorities, energy sector operators and other interested parties through active and interactive communication. The investment project forms part of a pair of projects, in which the development measures are carried out as part of the development project. |
| Partners | Investointihanke on osa hankeparia, jota toteutetaan yhdessä Lappeenrannan-Lahden teknillisen yliopiston sekä Ylä-Savon ammattiopiston kanssa.
Hankkeen varsinaisena kohderyhmänä ovat maatalousyrittäjät sekä maatalouteen liittyvät muut pk-yritykset, energiayhtiöt ja uusiutuvan energian hankkeita valmistelevat yritykset sekä investorit. Kohderyhmänä ovat myös aurinkoenergiajärjestelmiä toimittavat yritykset, aurinkoenergiajärjestelmiä sähköverkkoon kytkevät yritykset. Kunnat, ympäristöviranomaiset ja TKI-toimijat hyötyvät hankkeen tuottamasta lisätiedosta yhteiskäytön mahdollisuuksia aurinkoenergiahankkeita luvitusta ja kannattavuutta arvioidessaan. |
