Accept the Study Place

Admitted students receive an offer of admission by email once the admission results have been published. Accept the offered study place by the date and time stated in the offer. If you do not accept the study place by the deadline, you will lose it.

Accept the offered study place through My Studyinfo service or via the link included in the email you received from Studyinfo. If you cannot accept the offer electronically, please contact Savonia UAS Admission Services (admissions@savonia.fi).

Accepting a study place is a binding choice, and you cannot cancel or change your choice later.

When you accept a study place, two regulations apply: the one study place per term provision and the one study right rule.

One Study Place Per Term Provision

According to this provision, a student may accept only one offer of admission to a study programme leading to a higher education degree in Finland in education that begins in the same academic term (1.8.−31.12. or 1.1.−31.7). This rule applies to all higher education in Finland (bachelor’s and master’s degrees awarded by Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences, and licentiate and doctoral degrees awarded by Finnish universities).

The provision applies to higher education regardless of how the studies are provided. When a student accepts an offer of admission to one study programme, all other offers of admissions to other study programmes will be cancelled automatically, and the student cannot be offered another admission to other study programmes starting in the same academic term.

One Study Right Rule

One Study Right Rule refers to legislative changes that entered into force on 1 August 2026. Under the new legislation, a student’s existing study rights at the same or lower higher education level in Finnish higher education institutions will end, if they accept a new study right leading to a degree.

The rule applies only to study rights at Finnish higher education institutions and to programmes starting on 1 January 2027 or later.

The aim of these legislative changes is to provide as many people as possible with the opportunity to complete a higher education degree, particularly those who do not yet hold a degree or an existing study right.

Savonia UAS may request you to submit your original, final certificates before starting your studies. In this case, your admission remains conditional until Savonia UAS has verified all relevant certificates related to your application. If you fail to submit the required documents by the given deadline, you will lose your study place at Savonia UAS. Any fees paid up to that point, including tuition fees, registration fees and student union membership fees, are non-refundable in cases of intentional malpractice or false information.
