What will you learn?
1st year
During the first year the you will get a basic understanding of the tourism and hospitality industry and working in it. In the first study year studies are in English, but you also develop your essential Finnish language skills and understanding of the study field.
2nd year
Your second year studies focus on planning and implementing the service products in the tourism and hospitality industry.
3rd year
The third year studies develop your management skills and deepen your knowledge of developing the industry.

Combined with practical training and industry collaboration, these studies support you in building valuable networks and understanding the local working culture.

Programme Structure
The degree consists of 210 ECTS. According to the curriculum, one academic year corresponds to 60 ECTS, which is equivalent to 1600 hours of a student’s workload.
The studies consist, among others, of lectures, online and independent studies, teamwork and internship(s). Participation in research and development activities also makes up an important part of your studies.
The detailed structure of your studies is as follows:
• Basic studies 55 ECTS
• Professional studies 95 ECTS
• Alternative studies 20 ECTS
• Internship(s) 30 ECTS
• Thesis 10 ECTS
Career and Future
The degree prepares you for a variety of roles in tourism and hospitality. By combining hospitality expertise, business skills, practical experience, and Finnish language learning, the programme provides a strong foundation for specialist, development, supervisory, management, and entrepreneurial careers. Graduates may also find opportunities in other service sectors.
