Objectives | Through the work of a dancer, the student becomes acquainted with the repertoire of classical ballet and modern dance. The student understands the background of the works and outlines the works as part of the history of Western art dance. The student recognizes the works as part of the historical continuum of dance, being aware of the works in relation to music. The student becomes acquainted with the key stages in the history of Western art dance and music by doing and researching, watching, listening and analyzing. The student recognizes the aesthetics of each era and becomes acquainted with the key pioneers and works of dance. The student understands the connection between history and today's dance phenomena. |
