Objectives | The student practices analyzing dance in its many different manifestations by doing and researching it himself. The student understands the overall structures of a dance work and its components and is able to verbalize them. The student is able to interpret and analyze performing or participatory art from different perspectives. The student understands the connection between the work and the history of dance and its significance for today's dance phenomena. The course introduces the structures of Western rhythm music by listening to and analyzing. |
Content | During the course, dance works are analyzed and interpreted, and music is listened to and analyzed. The works are linked to the repertoire and history of jazz dance, the history and recent history of Finnish dance, and postmodern dance. |
