Name	Communication Skills

Objectives	The student learns about oral communication and writing in a multicultural environment as well as how to give presentations, express opinions and write public documents in English. Introduction to information systems at the Savonia UAS such as email and eLearning platform Moodle. Students are able to improve their skills in scientific writing by using Microsoft Word. Students also get hands-on experience with multimedia production by learning image and video processing. Finally, students will produce an electronic publication (poster, newspaper, blogs etc.) with selected publishing software and/or social media tools.
Content	Writing reports and articles, public writing e.g. blog writing, giving presentations. Information systems (email, Moodle etc.) at the Savonia UAS, scientific writing by using Microsoft Word, basics of multimedia (image and video processing), basics of electronic publishing software.
Requirements	Active participation, completed assignments.
