DescriptionDigitalization and Internet of Things (IoT) have caused structural changes in our society. This structural change continuously effect job descriptions of the healthcare sector. The WelTech project develops and maintains training packages for nursing staff and students in the field. Training aims to lower the threshold for the deployment and use of new technologies, and in particular to facilitate the work of nursing staff. The project measures the quality of the developed training packages by surveys.

Savonia University of Applied Sciences and Savo Consortium for Education, Savo Vocational College, mainly carry out the training. The project will familiarize nursing staff with the latest technology that can ease their work. The city of Kuopio is strongly involved in the project by providing facilities for the project and by bringing personnel to training. The University of Eastern Finland estimates the effectiveness of the training held during the project.

As a result of the project training models are designed, prepared and tested for nursing staff and students. These training models are developed in cooperation with companies, care providers and nursing staff, taking into account the needs of end-users of target groups and services.
