The Bachelor of Health Care, Registered Nurse programme tailored for Egyptian nurses is a top-up education programme realised by Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Savonia UAS) in co-operation with Trust Education & Health Services. This education programme aims to develop competent and highly skilled nurses with excellent knowledge of encountering, supervising and caring for people with diverse health issues. This programme, along with your previous experience, will provide you with extensive nursing knowledge.
Savonia UAS offers a multi-professional learning environment in modern facilities with a simulation centre, clinical skill laboratories, and health technology. The studies are implemented in a blended manner combining personal tutoring, e-learning, and clinical nursing practices aimed at deepening your multi-professional evidence-based care. Online studies of Finnish language will be provided before the beginning of the programme.

Content of studies
The studies will include integration to the Finnish society, language studies and modules that aim to familiarize participants with the Finnish social and healthcare environment. The studies include practical training at Finnish hospitals and other healthcare facilities.
Career possibilities
You can work as a nursing expert in Finnish health care e.g. at health clinics, in hospital wards and home care services. In addition, care and health care companies, special health care outpatient clinics, wards and operating theatres can be your future employers.
Qualification
The National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (VALVIRA) grants licensing, upon application and upon the announcement of the UAS, to practice nursing as a licenced professional. The professional qualification of a nurse and the education of a nurse working in general nursing are regulated by the directive 2013/55/EY of the European Parliament and of the Council as well as by the European Qualifications Framework, 2006.
Admission process
The admission to this top-up education programme is managed by Savonia UAS in collaboration with Trust Education & Health Services.
- The supplementary application period is 29 April – 5 May 2022.
- The application form must be submitted in StudyInfo.fi by 5 May 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.
- Applicants must submit copies of the required documents to the online application (in PDF/JPG format) by 12 May 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.
- Copy of Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, completed in Egypt
- Copy of valid passport/ID card
- Preliminary task
- The invitation letter to participate in the personal online interview will be sent via email by 16 May 2022. Online interviews will be held via Zoom. The detailed information of the interview is included in interview invitation letter.
- The online interviews will be held on 17 and 20 May 2022 from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Finnish time.
- Applicants will be informed of the application process results by email by 23 May 2022.
- Students will be selected based on the results of the entrance exam (both preliminary task and interview).
- Applicants may also be placed on the waiting list.
- The student selection is conditional until Savonia UAS has checked the eligibility of the applicant.
- Admitted students must confirm their study place by 31 May 2022. Those who are admitted from the waiting list have 7 days to confirm the study place.

Student selection
To be selected to this programme, the applicant must pass the entrance exam, which includes a preliminary task and an online interview.
Preliminary task

- Min 5 points/max 10 points
Online interview
- Invitations to the online interviews will be sent via email by 16 May 2022. Personal interview time and link will be sent with the invitation.
- The online interviews are held on 17 and 20 May 2022 from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Finnish time in Zoom.
- Min 16 points/max 40 points
Students will be selected based on the results of the entrance exam (both preliminary task and interview). Applicants may also be placed on the waiting list. Each applicant will be informed about the selection results by email.
