Degree Programme of Physiotherapy

This curriculum is a translation of the curriculum of the Finnish degree program.

Development of Expertise

In Savonia's curricula, the study units form broader study units. In this way, they support the overall development of the student and the development of expertise. At the same time, it is possible to combine teaching and work-based research and development.

The physiotherapist's curriculum is designed so that the degree produces the skills required in working life and the training ensures the development of the student's expertise.

To support his / her studies, the student prepares a personal study plan, in which the previously acquired competence is identified. The student is responsible for the progress of his / her studies. Savonia teachers and other staff guide and support in defining and achieving personal goals.

The student's expertise develops each year in accordance with the designated annual themes, which emphasize professional competence, age competence, entrepreneurial approach and preventive approach.

In the physiotheraphy degree program, these are:
Year 1: Activation of expertise
Year 2: Development of expertise
Year 3: Deepening expertise
Year 4: Physiotherapist as an expert
