Life and Learning at Savonia University: An International Student’s Perspective
Anjila’s Story
Hello,
My name is Anjila, and I am a final-year International Business student from Nepal, currently studying at Savonia University of Applied Sciences. Since starting my studies in August 2023, this journey has been both challenging and inspiring, helping me grow academically, professionally, and personally.
I chose International Business because I am passionate about understanding global markets, entrepreneurship, and exploring how businesses thrive across different countries. Savonia stood out to me because of its practical approach to learning, diverse international environment, and emphasis on real-world skills, which I knew would prepare me for a global career.
During my studies, I have gained knowledge in areas such as marketing, finance, management, logistics, and international trade. More importantly, I have had the opportunity to work on collaborative projects with students from various cultural backgrounds. These experiences have not only improved my teamwork and communication skills but also taught me the value of different perspectives in problem-solving.
Studying in Finland has been a unique and memorable experience. Adjusting to a new culture and the cold climate was not easy at first, but I soon came to appreciate the country’s calm environment, supportive educational system, and welcoming community. The friendships I have built with classmates from around the world have made this experience even more meaningful.
After graduation, I aspire to build a career in international business, particularly in marketing, digital business, or international trade. My long-term goal is to contribute to bridging Nepal with global markets and promoting collaboration between different cultures and businesses.
For students planning to study abroad, my advice is to embrace every opportunity, stay curious, and be proactive. Challenges are part of the journey, but they also lead to tremendous growth and unforgettable experiences.
