My Journey as an International Business Student at Savonia

Hello,

I am a final-year International Business student from Nepal, currently studying at Savonia University of Applied Sciences. I began my studies in August 2023, and over the past two years, this journey has been one of the most valuable and transformative experiences of my life.

I chose to study International Business because I have always been passionate about global markets, entrepreneurship, and learning how businesses operate across borders. When I discovered Savonia, I was impressed by its international environment, practical learning approach, and strong focus on real-world business skills. It felt like the perfect place to develop my professional abilities and prepare for a global career.

Throughout the program, I have gained both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in areas such as marketing, finance, management, logistics, and cross-cultural communication. The courses are interactive, and working on group projects with students from different countries has helped me grow both academically and personally. The teachers are supportive and encourage students to think critically and creatively, which has made the learning process enjoyable and rewarding.

Living and studying in Finland has been an unforgettable experience. At first, adapting to the cold weather and new culture was challenging, but with time, I learned to appreciate Finland’s peaceful environment, friendly people, and high-quality education system. The supportive staff and international community at Savonia made me feel welcome from the very beginning.

After graduation, I plan to start my career in the international business field, possibly focusing on marketing, digital business, or international trade. In the long run, I hope to create opportunities that connect Nepal with global markets and promote cross-cultural collaboration.

My advice to future students is to stay motivated, open-minded, and proactive. Take every opportunity to learn, build connections, and participate in practical projects. Studying abroad may seem challenging at first, but it is truly a life-changing experience that helps you grow in every way.
