Savonia UAS offers different ways how to apply to degree programmes conducted in English.

Process and timetable
The application period is from 7 January 2026 to 31 March 2026. Application form must be submitted in Studyinfo by 31 March 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.
Please note! Applicants from outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland are required to pay an application fee in order to apply to higher education studies. Please, read more information about the application fee on Studyinfo.
Required attachments
Applicants must upload the following attachments on the application form by 7 April 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time:
- Copies of final certificates, which give eligibility to apply to Higher Education studies. You cannot apply with an unfinished degree.
- A copy of an official ID / passport, which is valid at least until 7 January 2026.
Student selection
Students are selected on the basis of an entrance examination. The entrance examination will be arranged on 15 April 2026.
Student selection of Bachelor of Hospitality Management and Bachelor of Health Care is based on entrance exam and group interview. Both entrance exam and group interview are organized on 15 April 2026 on Microkatu campus, Kuopio. An applicant must participate both parts, the written exam and the group interview.
Student selection of other Bachelor’s degree programmes is based on entrance exam. The entrance exam is organized on 15 April 2026 in Microkatu campus, Kuopio or in Varkaus (Industrial Management).
- All applicants will be invited to the entrance examination. The invitation to the entrance exam is sent by email at least a week before the exam.
- The entrance examination is organized only in Finland.
- It is not possible to participate in the entrance examination in any other location or online.
- The number of study places on each degree programme is limited.
Applicant can be admitted to Savonia UAS if:
- she/he is eligible to apply for Higher Education studies
- she/he successfully completes the entrance exam / entrance exam and interview
- there is a study place available
Individual arrangements
Individual arrangements refer to customized practical arrangements in an entrance examination situation. You may be granted individual arrangements in the entrance examination due to illness, disability, dyslexia, or some other specific reason.
If you need individual arrangements during the entrance exam, please fill in this form and attach a medical certificate or other equivalent attestation on the nature of your disability or disease. Submit the request for individual arrangements by 7 April 2026 at 3:00 p.m. Finnish time.
Entrance examination on 15 April 2026
Bachelor of Business Administration, International Business
- The exam is organized on Microkatu campus in Kuopio.
- The exam starts at 1 p.m. Registration for the exam starts at 12:30. The exam ends by 4 p.m.
- The entrance examination contains three (3) sections:
– reading comprehension with multiple choices
– writing task
– mathematical-logical questions with multiple choices - Please bring your valid passport/ID card and writing tools (a pencil and an eraser) with you to the exam.
- You cannot use a calculator in the examination
Bachelor of Engineering, Industrial Management
- The exam is organized on Varkaus campus.
- The exam starts at 1 p.m. Registration for the exam starts at 12:30. The exam ends by 4 p.m.
- The entrance exam tests the applicant’s English language skills, mathematical and scientific reasoning skills and suitability for the field.
- Please bring your valid passport/ID card and writing tools (a pencil, eraser and ruler) with you to the exam.
- Savonia UAS will provide calculators for the entrance exam. You cannot use a calculator of your own in the entrance exam.
Bachelor of Engineering, Information Technology (Internet of Things)
- The exam is organized on Microkatu campus in Kuopio.
- The exam starts at 1 p.m. Registration for the exam starts at 12:30. The exam ends by 4 p.m.
- The entrance exam tests the applicant’s English language skills, mathematical and scientific reasoning skills and suitability for the field.
- Please bring your valid passport/ID card and writing tools (a pencil, eraser and ruler) with you to the exam.
- Savonia UAS will provide calculators for the entrance exam. You cannot use a calculator of your own in the exam.
Bachelor of Health Care, Registered Nurse
- The entrance exam is organized on Microkatu campus in Kuopio.
- The entrance exam has two parts; a written exam and a group interview. An applicant must participate both parts, the written exam and the group interview.
- The written exam starts at 9 a.m. Registration for the exam starts at 8:30. The written exam is followed by group interviews which are organized between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- The purpose of the written material exam, based on the written material provided, is to assess the applicant’s study skills and ability to apply evidence-based knowledge.
- The purpose of the group interview is to assess the applicant’s motivation to apply to the degree programme, as well as communication skills. In addition, the aim is to evaluate the applicant’s English language proficiency.
- Please bring your valid passport/ID card and writing tools (a pencil and an eraser) with you to the exam.
- You cannot use a calculator in the examination
Bachelor of Hospitality Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management for Immigrants
- The entrance exam is organized on Microkatu campus in Kuopio.
- The entrance exam has two parts; a written exam and a group interview. An applicant must participate both parts, the written exam and the group interview.
- The written exam starts at 9 a.m. Registration for the exam starts at 8:30. The written exam is followed by group interviews which are organized between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
- The written exam contains three (3) sections:
– reading comprehension with multiple choices
– writing task on career plans and professional goals
– mathematical-logical questions with multiple choices - The purpose of the group interview is to asses applicant’s motivation to apply, suitability for the field as well as applicant’s proficiency in English language.
- Please bring your valid passport/ID card and writing tools (a pencil and an eraser) with you to the exam.
- You cannot use a calculator in the examination.
If I am admitted to Savonia UAS?
If you are admitted to Savonia UAS, you will receive an acceptance letter by email.
Study place must be confirmed within 7 days of being accepted as student.
Those who are obligated to pay the tuition fee will receive instructions on how to pay the tuition fee. The tuition fee must be fully paid within 14 days of being accepted as student.
Starting of the studies
Studies will begin:
- Registered nurse on 31 August 2026
- All other Bachelor degree programmes on 1 September 2026
Note! Students must register as present or absent for the academic year by 31 August 2026 either in person on campus or by authenticating online through Candour service. All students will receive information regarding the registration during July 2026.
