ObjectivesLearning outcomes
Students will gain hands-on experience of the challenges of the business and hospital world in the field of medical computing, benefiting them on future career paths. Students develop their problem-solving skills through the work assignments assigned to them. Students expand their meta-skills, such as individual and group work, resource management and integration, and production-centric thinking. Students actively network with medical computing actors.

Students demonstrate the knowledge, skills and experience they developed during the internship by writing a report. Students will gain a basic understanding of technical reporting, visualization, analysis, and academic writing skills related to the topic of their project.
ContentContent
Students collaborate with business partners and/or Kuopio University Hospital doctors and researchers. Forms of cooperation are agreed together at the beginning of the internship period: they are research- or development-focused. Students receive materials and guidance for their work from partners and work according to their instructions. Unless otherwise agreed, the work is not critical for production or clinical work.

In the report (to be written in English), students describe the backgrounds, research methods or development work and results of their project and analyze these (primary results, constraints and future research work). The report will be reviewed by the project partners prior to the evaluation to ensure that confidentiality of information is not breached.
