| Osaamistavoitteet | Upon completing the course, the graduates - are aware of the importance of molecular biology as interdisciplinary subject as well as the value of the molecular biological diagnostics - have profound knowledge of the basic components of the genetic code and understand the structure and the functions as well as the mechanisms of passing on the genetic function and the protein synthesis as a result of the translation of the genetic information - know the causes of the development of genetic diseases, can explain the main methods and applications of molecular biology and cytogenetics - know a clinical laboratory process in the field of molecular biology (preanalytics, analytics and postanalytics) - know the national and international legislation - can define the ethical problems related to molecular biology and gene technology - can independently carry out molecular biology analyzes in compliance with the requirements of the quality assurance - can document the results of the analyzes with the existing technologies and understand the importance of the interpretation of the findings - know the main principles regarding patient and work safety |
